"If it Weren't for the Way I Dress, No one Would Notice Me"

When I think of my first love, I think of a city, and that city is Paris. I remember stepping out into the city for my first time. I couldn't fathom the delicacy in which people lived. It was so intriguing and beautiful, and I instantly felt exhilarated by just having my two feet planted on those streets.

After leaving that trip, I came home feeling very "Francais". I went out and got a scripted tattoo in french, I listened and still listen to french music in my car, I've tried to learn the language about 5 times (and clearly my brain will not withstand another language), and did ancestry testing finding out I'm 15% French, which I was obviously thrilled by. So I guess you could say I'm still a little obsessed with my first love.

Though I love the city and all the beauty is has to offer, the attribute I adore most about the french, is their style. Minimalism tied with androgyny with a splash of bohemian. Francoise Hardy is the real revolutionary of that "french girl style", a style that has influenced our fashion choices to this day. She rebelled against the "sex kitten" look of the 60s and originated some of the styles that have now cultivated the fashion world.
